General Chat / Rad alternative
November 05, 2022, 05:37:56 AM
So I came into a little bit of money thanks to almost 45 years of working.  I want to buy a friend a bike.
I have a Mini st, I thought a Rad Mission would fit the bill. They don't exist anymore and my Mini is a constant issue.
So I am looking fora alertaivve.. probably a Aveton or Lectric xp. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Bad Boys is the way I learned in college, but that was 1973 ;)
The same way I learned it in 1975 , still wish I had met Violet.  I think it is socially unacceptable now. Funny I can remember that in a second.  Dividing fractions no.

I agree, I did not see a need or I never will cut into factory wiring. My auxiliary lights work awesome, rechargeable.  I get 3 to 4 hours on high beam. I don't do much night riding anymore more mostly strobe for day.
I am by far a electronics engineer  but I still remember what way a diode went in and the resistor codes. BBRYGBVGW.

General Chat / Re: First ride in 6 weeks

I did about a 20 mile ride today. Started out at 36 degrees.  The route is on a path that has many small hills. The good thing about the dropper post was when I started to get a little store a slight adjustment to seat heights shifted my body weight in a second.

General Chat / First ride in 6 weeks

I had tried a ride a few weeks ago, no luck. My leg that was injured won't take the weight to let me swing other leg over the saddle. I tried getting on from the other side , no way.

My choice was to lower the seat all the way down, could not pedal with any comfort.  I decided to buy a dropper post, best invention to help me get on the bike and then ride comfortably.

Muscle and tendon damage are probably long term.  It is not often we get a long stretch of 70 degree weather here in October.  I was so happy to get out !

RadRover / Leg

Leg will not heal. My Mini was how I got around. No walking or riding  . LOOKING for better tire options.  The standard tires suck.

5 crashes so far.

I am overly cautious, mine gets warm. I charge mine in my living room in a steel crate with a  cable attached to it. Cable  runs out the front door.

I do not do this for personal safety but for the dumbest dog that I adopted.
He would try to attack it.
If it catches  I can drag it out.

General Chat / Boredom

So I lead a pretty simple life, a little over a year ago I found out driving was not going well.
I sold my cars and motorcycle.  Checking  my blind spot almost made me pass out.
I found I could still skateboard and ride my bike.
Zoom ahead 1 year, I bought my Rad. Freedom came back.now with my injury no riding.
The boredom is killing me. I can walk slow. I had to walk about 2 miles to get food today.
Everyone I helped for yea6is too busy now. I will be able to lift my leg again  , when the calls come in for help , not me.
Sorry to vent, just so bored.

I knew  I bought a cheap bike. I had to sell my car for medical issues. Trying to get on it doesn't work, so disgusted

Bike is fine a little tear on a grip. Best thing I have bought is a folding milk crate on my rear rack, seems to absorb the impact very well.  One fall
Ive had crazy wrecks on really  Texpensive bikes, sometimes sh!t just happens....

How bad is the bike?  Is it still rideable?

The problem with a trailer is any axle mount. The warranty is voided.

I live in a high  crime area , no issues about  personal safety, always leave protected.  I take battery and seat in. Explan to the staff nothing dangerous.
Many times I get told just bring it in.

Yes. I don't think it is possible because somebody would have figured it out and shared it with everyone. The fact that nobody knows how to do it means that it is not possible - or only possible with more equipment (computer), connecting cables, and software.
Mine cleared it self One day, from about 600 miles back to zero, still working now. I called Rad  because I was worried about possible controller issues.  Don't worry at least you have less miles.
