I?ve seen instructions for installing a throttle disconnect kit. It is simply two caps to put on each end of the connector after it is disconnected. I haven?t been able to find how to buy one. I?d like to have the option of disconnecting the throttle to make it legal to ride in CA State Park and Recreation Area trails. Most all those trails are restricted to class 1 e-bikes. Can anyone tell me where to get the disconnect kit?

Personally, I'd just buy a sticker off ebay or wherever that says Class 1 and cover your current sticker. and then use your honor and not use the throttle where restricted, instead of going through all the trouble and money to disconnect and reconnect.
It?s my understanding that I could be fined for riding it even without using the throttle. Disconnected it?s legal. Of course I?d hook it back up the rest of the time. I don?t know how closely they?ll watch for throttles since it seems a minor difference. I?m just glad I can keep it legal if it?s needed and switch back again.

i mean, sure. you can be fined for jaywalking too.

Not anymore in Calif.  New law Jan 1 2023 says pedestrians can jaywalk.

I have a spare battery for my RR6+.  Is it better to store this battery and not use it or circulate it into use with the other battery?  If storing it do I store it fully charged?

Thanks

I would rotate the batteries and use both myself, If going on a real long ride, Take both batteries.

having a great ride, and BOOM, blow out. I'd gotten a flat before from goat heads (as in, woken up to a flat when i went out to ride), but this was the first blow out while riding. Rear tire, too, and i've been unable to remove the wheel (despite having removed it previously to change the goat head flat).

decided to get back to it tomorrow before I do something stupid in trying to remove the wheel in my frustration.

(and yes, i did have flat out, so it might have been a doozy of a blow out.)

I am considering using flat out, Please keep us posted on your progress,
Thanks, Paul

I weigh 220 lbs (100kg) and live in a hilly area.  I get about 200-400 miles depending on whether it?s soft or hard/sintered pads I?m using. RR6+

Thanks Brunotj,
Forgot to mention, I am 6 foot and 220 lbs. Not too hilly of an area,

Hi,
i'm a proud owner of a RadRover 6+ since a month.  I really love this bike !   But after only 325km (200 miles), i think my brake pad are already dead ...   after how many km/miles do you change your brakes pads ?
Thanks

The fronts usually go first,
200 miles doesn't sound right to be worn out, I have a rad rover 5 with mechanical brakes and got about 1500 miles out if the fronts, And about 3000 miles from the rear.

Thanks Brunotj,

I receive tons of emails from ebike and battery manufacturers. This most recent one caught my eye as they are claiming it is a replacement battery for Rad Power Bikes that fit the same cradle. Note I have zero affiliation with the seller nor can comment at all on the quality of the packs. Simply passing along the information and photos.

From the email I received "This is our new model, same mount plate as rad power bikes. U009 48v 14.4ah LG4800mah-21700 cell 30A bms 2A charger 214USD. Lead time about 5 days. Shipping cost by air to US:85 USD including clearance, tax, 10-12days, door to door. Max specification:48v 20ah/52v 17.5ah."

Unit Pack Power (Shenzhen Unit Pack Power Technology Co)

I have read horror stories about after market batteries, Hope these are not among that group,

Your a tall guy. I haven't done much research on seat posts but this one seems to be on the shorter side. Leg extension may be a factor.
I'm 5'11"  Long,  and pretty much have the stock post maxed out.
Seat post height should be all good if the Thudbuster is any where near close in size to the stock post.

It's a proven design with the correct suspension geometry, so it seems like it will work well for you. Are you ordering a different weight elastomer, or trying out the medium one it comes with first?

The kit comes with 3 inserts, #2, #3, and #4,  They offer 2 more not in the kit, #1 extra light,  And #5 extra firm,  I'm 6'1" 220 pounds, So am going with the firm insert #4 for starters, I will be buying a couple spares once I figure out which one works best,  May have to go the #5 route if the #4 is too bouncy.

Just ordered this for my Radrover 5, Your thoughts and reviews?
I bought this specific one because I didn't want peddle bounce and like to know where my feet are on the ground when stopping or going slow, So I am wanting the seat height to stay the same as no seat suspension when slow or stopped. I was thinking this would allow me to maintain seat height until I need it with the light off-road I do. (I should mention, I am an old guy, 68 this November)
Thanks All, Paul
