Very familiar with your code 30, Yes it is the controller. I went through 3 bikes on purchase 2 years ago. They were quick on CS with phone calls. I sent videos by email while on the phone. Controller replacement is only hard putting the screws back in to hold controller to frame. They replaced 2 bikes and then sent me a controller for the third (107 miles on it). All warranty. That controller now has 1100+ miles on it and I still hold my breath on startups. I still love the bike. Aftermarket? Good luck.

CS will send a new controller... you must install it.

The physical oddities on that 2nd bike was bird shit on the handle bars and tree, shrub dirt on the rear hub... YUP.

Controller still holding BUT the center display is gibberish. Some half lit, some missing legs of numbers. No part of display is working normally. Warranty part coming from CS, who has been outstanding. Let's build a working bike before the warranty runs out.

CHEAP!! About a month to get them, but may be quicker now. Hard to find size, SMOOTH great road contact. Feels like floating.

Assembled wrong at raD. Proper assembly is reflector ABOVE the fender mount. Reflector will not point down and fender will not sit so high off tire. JUST DO IT!!!

Still going, the newer controller may be a updated version, I HOPE. If you got a lemon, you should ask about replacing it BUT the newer controller is what you're after. Good luck to all.

Just a heads up... they sent me 2 replacement bikes (I'm an excellent assembler now) because of controllers.... and eventually a controller for the 3rd....

I'm sure you seen my thread, if not YES I had issues. CS was right there for me. So far the new controller, hopefully updated, is still working. It's the problem in my opinion.

I got the RC5 HS and a 30" inseam and clear the bar, barely. 29" is a gamble. Test ride.

Been a few days since I successfully replaced the controller and harness in the RC5. So far so good. It was rough finding the screw holes in the controller during mounting... Holding onto hope with the revision I got.

3rd RC5 died today. 106 miles, 3 charges, maybe 8-10 rides. 2 months. Code 30 while on kickstand (2nd bike, second time). In garage not ridden for about 6 days. Battery shows 6 bars. Remote display reads 1 bar, then the error 30 occurs. They are sending a controller and harness.

I cannot recommend this model. I only hope they offer us reliable controller for our 2 thousand dollars BEFORE warranty runs out (or their bankruptcy...)
