Title: Hitch mount bike rack
Post by: kev12345 on July 01, 2020, 09:23:07 AM
Any recommendations for a hitch mount bike rack? I have a RadCity stepthru and need a 4 bike rack.

Hanging style seems to be out of the question for step-thru frames. Platforms are my preference but they have to be e-bike weight rated. I love the Inno INH142 but the tire hold style doesn't work with fenders. Thule T2 Pro XT seems like it could work but it's only 2 bikes.

Do you not want to use the adapter bars? If you're open to it this one might just barely meet the weight capacity assuming you take the batteries off: https://amzn.to/2ZzScKm (https://amzn.to/2ZzScKm)

You may also want to see if Hollywood Racks has anything for 4 ebikes - I just reviewed the rack they offer on my YouTube channel and I was impressed. Very helpful folks in my experience.

I've also heard that you can add on to the 1Up bike racks. You can buy the Super Duty and then get a Super Duty add-on - though it is also super expensive.  https://www.1up-usa.com/products/ (https://www.1up-usa.com/products/)

Also here is another option from Thule (60lbs each capacity): https://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Bike-Racks/Thule/TH9034XT-9036XT.html (https://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Bike-Racks/Thule/TH9034XT-9036XT.html)

Seems none of the tire hold racks would work with the fenders.

Some folks seem to have gone this way:

so the only one I've found that ticks most of the boxes is the Thule easy fold xt2. built for weight of bikes, clamps down on frame (including step thru style). works with fenders. but man its expensive and it only holds two bikes. euro version has a 3 bikes for some reason?
