Title: rad mini won't gear won't allow chain to transfer cogs
Post by: fisherwoman123 on May 23, 2022, 07:58:43 AM

Hello, we have a rad mini step thru. 2500 miles. When attempting to change gears, the chain will not move to the next cog, but stays on the smallest cog. We adjusted the tension wire to the gears and it helped but not all the way there to make a smooth transition.

With the rear wheel off the ground, pedal the wheel forwards with one hand and with the other push the body of the deraileur.

Will it go all the way up the the biggest cog or does it jam?

The problem could be caused by one or several issues. The chain might be stretched; the freewheel could be worn, or your derailleur might just need more adjustment than you?ve already given it.

There are many good videos on YouTube to give you guidance, but if you?re not a do-it-yourself kind of person, then I?d suggest you take it into a bike shop for service. After 2500 miles it just needs a little TLC.
