Title: Flying or transporting your eBike
Post by: Nate Bush on November 03, 2020, 06:09:22 AM
Has anyone had any experience flying with their Rad Bikes? I'm going from Michigan to Phoenix for a month and would love to take our bikes with (Rad Mini 4 & Rad Mini Step-Thru).

Shipping the 2 bikes there & back is going to cost $650, so I need an airline that can take them.

I know won't be able to transport the batteries. Those will have to ship separately.

Should I bring them folded up in a box? Is there a better way to transport them?

Thanks for your help!

All airlines carry freight. I would go to a crating company & have both bikes folded and crated. Call the airlines to make arrangments for shipping before you arrive. As for the batteries, you would have to ship them ground. Just give them plenty of time to get there. Try FEDEX. Hope this helps.

Seems like a lot to ship two 75# boxes...  But I have not looked into it

I would look into renting some bikes at that price......
