Title: Battery Terminal Cover
Post by: jimu on July 19, 2022, 09:38:18 AM
Hi, Canadian owner here. Anyone know where to buy a terminal cover for the Rover 6? As an alternative a file number for a 3D printer would work as well.
Thanks

Blue painter's tape works great for me, to cover the connector side of the battery.

What I'm looking for is the cap to cover battery connection on the frame. Apparently this should be covered when transporting on a hitch rack. I'm also wondering if some dielectric grease would be an alternative solution.

On my Rover 5 I took a large plastic bag and wrapped it around the entire battery mount and frame a few times. Then I secured it with long velcro straps above and below the battery mount. I did the same thing with the controller and display. I drove with it on my hitch rack for 3000 miles like this through some heavy rain storms for part of that. It worked well and kept things dry. I considered using a full cover as well (like for a motorcycle), but just went this route instead.

Rad sells the terminal cover here:

I found a few Rad terminal 3D files, but none for your model.

I've made a 3D model for myself.

I can share it with you

I printed this one from Thingiverse.

I modified this one to be just a solid piece and to make it fit a little more snug.
