General Chat / Rad parts shipping needs to improve
June 30, 2021, 05:43:49 PM
Grateful that they sell parts but shipping takes forever. 4 orders now and each one takes longer. Latest order for a part in stock which they said will ship the next day, has a tracking number, but hasn't been scanned by shipper after 7 days! If you have a shipping problem you need to email help center which can take up to a week to hear back. I know because I've submitted 3 tickets for various reasons and they are so backed up you almost forgot you submitted a ticket. Need to find an alternate source for parts because they must be under staffed at this point or?

Service & Repair / Radcity shifter broken
June 23, 2021, 01:29:46 PM
We have 2 Radcity bikes so easy to compare one to another. One quit shifting and stays in 7th gear. Thought it was cable or needed adjustment but all that stills works as it should if cable is loosened. Problem is in shifter because it doesn't hold a position when down shifting. The other bike works perfectly and you can hear clear clicks up and down shifting with cable loose. Not so with the other shifter. The lever moves but doesn't click into each gear. Anyone have a solution, or do I have a broken part inside shifter preventing it from holding a gear. There must be a pawl or something inside to keep it in each gear.

Posted a wanted ad in classifieds. My new to me RadRunner came with a front fender, but no rear fender. Rad is out of stock on the fenders, but I found a rear RadMini fender somewhat close to me. They do mount differently, but looking at the pictures they appear to be the same except for the mounting. Not sure how long Rad will be back ordered on the Runner fenders so was thinking of taking a chance the Mini fender. Too muddy and wet to use in PNW right now without fenders and I really want to ride it.

My wifes Rad City with 1750 miles has many issues. Before going any further all connections have been checked multiple times and the battery is fully charged. Here's the issues.
1. Turn key to on and then push LCD contol middle button toturn on display. Display turns on but pushing the middle button again does not turn off display. You need to turn key off for display to yurn off.

2. Pedal assist goes up by pushing top botton, but does not go down by pushing bottom button. Must turn bike off with key to reset pedal assist to 1.

3. Pushing middle and top buttons does not turn on headlight or taillight.

4. Pushing middle and top buttons puts LCD screen into program mode and displays "prgrm" and below that it displays "1435".

Anyone ever had these issues?

Rad Modifications / MIK rack adapter and home made basket
November 03, 2020, 12:51:44 PM
Made a basket from spare Cedar fencing, plywood, etc. Used an MIK adapter that fits the stock rack and is a quick release when not in use.

1700+ miles and original 26 x 2.3 tires are toast. Tread is very worn and too many punctures. Main issue is constant punctures and tired of patching once a week. 17 mile daily commute but that includes 2 miles of gravel each day. Need more robust tires and tubes but having a tough time finding anything in stock anywhere. Can I use a slightly smaller or wider width on the the 2.3 rim? Any suggestions on a puncture resistant tire/tube combo? Prefer a hybrid type tread.
