Denali Park in Alaska Ride
« on: June 03, 2021, 06:07:25 PM »
We are planning our second ride in Denali (Mt McKinnely) in July with 7 eBikes. We have two rad bikes. One Runner and on Rover. We will rent remaining bike. This time we are taking a couple extra batteries. I am looking for this groups comments and suggestions on prepping for the adventure.

With 92 miles of road it would be quite an adventure to do the entire Denali park road. Last time we did about 50 miles one way and 100 round trip across three days. The dramatic elevation changes of the road make it a great fit for e-bikes and non athletic riders. Its also a lot of fun going downhill for miles.

Yes, Jim, it is a significant elevation gain. That's why, in my opinion, unless you want to be sore every night, eBikes are the way to enjoy the park.

I made a lot of upgrades since I last posted. The Runner has: 1) another Rad OEM battery above the rear wheel under the rack wired in; 2) orange reflective trim on the rims, 3) Ergon grips.

The Rover has 1) bigger pedals; 2) spare Rad OEM battery carried on the rear rack; 3) 35amp controller and display; 4) guard on the bottom; 5) front and rear cargo bags. 6) orange reflective trim on the rims; 7) dropper/suspension seat post.

The Runner was previously upgraded with 35 amp controller and display, 750w Bafang motor, suspension seat post, better seat, bigger pedals.

I will post a few photos of the bikes soon.

We are looking forward to the ride in the park with family and friends again in a few weeks.
