Received my RadWagon 4 a week ago and have put just under 200 km on it! I love it. It's a great bike and what has surprised me is how much easier it is to ride with PAS than my RR+ was! The narrower tires really let you pedal as though you were riding a regular bike. Rad did a great job with the center of gravity as well. Makes hauling kids or cargo easy. I usually keep the bike in PAS 0 or 1 and just use throttle for the steep hils whilst peddling. You will LOVE it!

Hi,

Bought one of these and have to say, it works very well. When positioned correctly,  the stand automatically clicks into place and remains there until you use the stand. It feels like an oem piece and is a great addition to my Rad Wagon 4. Thank you so much!

Hi, actually, we were able to fit the ballard bag with 1 Yepp maxi on the RW4. Please see attached pic.. Hope this helps people in a similar situation.

Bolton bikes just began a website to sell ebikes and parts. They may have what you are looking for.

Out of curiosity,  how did your kid destroy his motor? That's a pretty epic feat.

Nice to see someone from Ontario with their bikes. How satisfied are you with the Canadian specced bikes and their 500W output? Is it sufficient to get you up the hills and does it work for longer rides?

Not OP, but have experience with RR1 and RR+. Presently in Sherbrooke,  Quebec,  Canada where its very hilly. The RR1 works just fine but you do need to stand and pedal on some of the steeper hills whereas the RR+ takes it in stride with the 7 speed gear shifter. That being said, you would be hard pressed to expect the throttle to get you up the latter type of hills on throttle alone. Though in fairness,  I weigh 220 pounds so that doesn't help.

Once my warranty is up on my new RadWagon I plan getting the Bolton upgrades next year. I don't need more speed, I just want to help the motor get up our hills more easily with or without pedaling and especially when loaded with kids/groceries.

RadRover / Re: Canadian Upgrade to 500 W Motor

Correct. The controller is the brains here. Changing it out for something better will yield positive results. However,  the down side is that you will likely drain your battery more quickly depending on how you use the bike. Based on what you are saying,  that should be negligible.

What year is your bike? I ask because all Rad Bicycles actually come with the same motor. However,  they are spec'd differently for their respective markets via the controller.

Furthermore,  Bolton ebikes point out that the motor is in itself not a true 500 and sells an upgrade kit. The latter is a larger motor with upgraded controller that, if I am not mistaken, makes your bike closer to a nominal 1000 watt. Check out his YouTube channel. He is actually selling an upgraded RadRover/Rhino that hS the same off the line acceleration that you would expect from a SurRon.

At 1 bar I felt the bike become sluggish.  It would not surpass 5 miles an hour. That only happened once to me though. I've never been the low on battery again. The latter is in part because I keep it mostly on PAS 1 now and also because I bring the charger with me everywhere just in case.

Are you trying to increase your speed? Otherwise,  there a USB port/connection cable that you can purchase to connect directly to your bike. You have to disconnect the screen on your bike and connect the cable to the cable that is connected to the motor. You will be prompted to download the software. Once in you will see all the parameters of your motor.

Take a screenshot of the settings before you do anything.  This will ensure you can reset everything if you don't like the changes you made. This will void your warranty. It's a diagnostic tool that allows shops to customize the settings to their settings. Personally,  I've never felt the need to change my Rad bikes settings, but when converting bikes to electric,  it's handy.

Perhaps it is the bolts that attach the battery tray to the frame. If you remove them, add blue locktite, and secure tray again. The tray will often come lose after time, particularly on rough or off road use.

Hello,

My wife and I purchased two RadRunners last summer. She opted for the matte green RR1 whilst I decided to go for the Plus mainly for the gears. However,  I just sold my RR+ to a lovely family last week not because I didn't enjoy it but rather because I am expecting my RadWagon 4 any week now! We have 4 kids, including a toddler and an eight year old who are super excited about not having to take turns anymore! We are looking forward to getting back to our day trips on the Wagon. My order is sadly delayed but hopefully I'll have it sooner rather than later.

Customer service has been nothing if not phenomenal and I couldn't be happier with the quality of the bikes thus far. I have no doubt that the RW4 will be everything we need and them some. In fact, I'll be selling my truck once the RW4 arrives. I plan on going all in and making the RW4 my pick up replacement year round.

Thanks Ryan for your informative videos and for this site. It's part of what makes our bike ownership... well, rad! Keep up the great work!

Hi Ryan,

May I have a code please? If not, no worries.  Either way, keep up the great work.

Just received my RR Plus and this is happening when I use the front brake as well. Checked connections and all seems fine. Does not happen on my wife's RR1. Anyone else figure out why it does this?

General Chat / Re: Rad the worst e-bikes on the market

From what I have been reading, the owner of worse eBike (and especially customer service) is Super73. I've not had any issues with our Rads and customer service has been nothing less than excellent. I am sorry OP that you have had such a problem with yours. Maybe the lemon law applies?
