RadMission / Re: Will any chain do?
Last post by John Rose - Today at 03:30:02 PM
I was going to ask if it falls off when he shifts, or any old time, but it appears that the RadMission is a single speed bike with no derailleur.

I see that radpowerbikes.ca has only one chain for sale, and the description is:

Quote3/32-inch derailleur chain. Cut to length.
Compatibility - All ebike models EXCEPT RadWagon
For customers who own a RadWagon (all model years), please contact us here.
Also, a Radmission chain tensioner replacement guide, at https://support.radpowerbikes.com/Maintenance_and_troubleshooting/Shifting_and_drivetrain/RadMission_chain_tensioner_replacement_guide
The installation and adjustment part could yield some useful info.

RadMission / Will any chain do?
Last post by brotherhaslip - Today at 12:20:44 PM
I'm trying to help diag an issue my son is having with the Radmission bike.  His chain keeps coming off.  He is off at college, so I'm doing this over the phone.  I'm guessing he is having issues with the chain tensioner that seem to be common for this model.  I was wondering about having him try a new chain first, because he let the old chain get all rusty.  I'm guessing that bike chains are pretty standard other than they length.  Just wondering if pretty much any chain off Amazon would work, or do I need to look for certain specs.

you should probably check the serial number on some of the stolen bike sites like Bike Index or Project 529 - if a bike is sold without a battery, it's not unreasonable to suspect the bike might have been stolen.

If they are out of stock, you will be put on a waiting list.
Ok thanks very much!

Hi!

I just purchased the Yuba monkey bars and am looking to do the same things.  Any pics to see the set up?  I don't think I'm as handy as you so I might need a little guidance.  :)

The chronological order is a bit vague. Which combo was "unbearable"?
Was it the Rad seat on the Rad post, or the Trek Seat on the Trek post?

If you're thinking of making or buying a non-Rad charger that is not specifically said to work with Rad batteries, it may not help.

(Shaggy Dog Story follows)
I have some power tools by Radley, a budget house brand of Home Hardware. I also was gifted with a Benchmark (another Home Hardware brand) cordless mower with two 20V batteries, but no charger because she needed for Benchmark tools that she was keeping.

Here's the thing - the two brands of batteries look identical, have the same voltage, same connection terminals. Even so, I cannot charge the Benchmark batteries with the Radley charger. It doesn't even "see" the battery. So I bought a Benchmark charger for the mower.

The Benchmark battery works in the Radley drill, but the Radley batteries do not work in the mower. Putting a Radley battery in the Benchmark charger gives a solid red LED, code for "defective battery".

So, what I'm suspecting is that one or the other battery brand has a chip in its BMS that enforces brand loyalty, under the pretense of "safety". If you do find the specs you are looking for, who knows if there isn't something in the Rad battery that is not mentioned in the charger spec.
