RadWagon / Chain Protection on the Lift Stand?
April 26, 2021, 01:44:05 PM
I'm still under 50 miles on my RW4.  There is a nice wrap-around protector for the rear fork, to prevent scratches from the chain.  Every time I park it, the chain flaps against the stand, have it scratched up already.  Why wouldn't they put scratch protection there?

What kind of areas are you riding on?  Highways? Hard Surface Trails? Crushed Rock Trails? or freewheeling in the woods?

I've seen so much talk about flats!  I just ordered the ~$140 set of super tires with liners for my RW4.  I have all those terrains I could ride on.  90% of my riding is on County Blacktops,  State Highways, or Federal Highways. Do you ride through Junk Yards where scrap and nails are impregnated into the soil?

Thank you all!

I wondered about that with my "decked out" RadWagon 4?  It is 70+ pounds dry.  Add accessories and you push the beast near 100#.  I've not found a stand with such specifications!

I was just looking at the Accessories and Parts pages.  It specifically says they don't post every part. Please call/contact service.  Spokes seem to be one of those things.  Email or call them.

This is an idea that's just come to me.  I've been looking at some portable solar panel & battery charger systems?  Has anyone thought of this?  What systems have you looked at?  I'm thinking of this in the case of longer mileage trips!

I look forward to your comments!

My RW4 is ~+$400 since September 2020.  I think that's a bit!

I touched base with Tannus to see if they plan on offering a new tire insert size for the Radwagon 4.   I was pleased to hear that they are working with Rad on this right now.   I was also pleased to hear that they have a size that will work today.   It requires a different size tube but you can find that size on Amazon.   The reply to my email is below.   Here is a link to that product he is talking about.  Sounds like Rad might offer this direct in a few months

BTW I did inquire that he was indeed talking about the new 22" x 3" tires and not the previous 24" size.   He did confirm that he is talking about the new 22" tires

We are actually working with Rad Power Bikes on this size right now.  We have a 24x1.95-2.5 that fits perfectly in this size. You will need to buy a new tube 22x1.75-2.3 should work fine for your needs (we don't sell this size on our site but you can get it on Amazon). Please let me know if you have any other questions.

All the best!

I'm very intrigued by this information.  I'll wait until they are an OEM part...

So far I've only gotten OEM parts, oops the front dual water bottle holder is NOEM,  I did find a Right Hand Mirror,

You can see the rest of the decked-outs, in my profile photo, Tons of ABUS security systems, literally.  I plan on adding Hexlox everywhere I can.

Hey all, it's over 40 finally in Eastern Iowa.  I'm a retired IT Systems & Network Engineer.  "Big-Ten" universities (uiowa.edu). Tertiary Hospital care. World 5 - Siemens. we could design, order/setup, of Major Buss Telematics Systems. Mom & Pop systems & network design, order, implement, complete.  "Servers, Switches, Router setup & deployment"  Actively using Raspberry Pi - ARMHF chips, etc. An endless plugin and additional system applications.  od services, applications.

Oops, the rest of me:  I'm 61, single, I ordered a PW4 in September 2020, final delivery 12/30/2020... I charged the battery, knowing I wanted to keep it in a charging matrix.

OOPS, I charged the dam thing, I can find the charger.  I must be observant,  "difficulty to find" on setting 10. It's hiding very well.  grrr... LMAO.

Hello all.  I've been pondering about doing some multi-day trips.  I've found this set of accessories on Amazon.  Thoughts/Ideas?

Jackery SolarSaga 100W Portable Solar Panel for Explorer 240/300/500/1000 Power Station, Foldable US Solar Cell Solar Charger with USB Outputs for Phones: SRP $299.

Onite 20-US24USB3W-WW USB Camping, Also for Garage Warehouse Car Truck Fishing Boat Outdoor Portable LED Bulb, Emergency Light, or Children Bed Lamp, WarmWhite, Warm White: SRP $9.99

Jackery Portable Power Station Explorer 500, 518Wh Outdoor Solar Generator Mobile Lithium Battery Pack with 110V/500W AC Outlet: SRP $499  I'd have to save up for it anyway, but would this work to charge Battery2, at a campsite?

anyone else's suggestion.  This looked sharp, neat, same folks with each piece.

It helps from avoiding the "front shimmy" of death!  If you have an F150 you already know.

General Chat / Re: Insulated bag for large basket

I was looking for a bag for the large basket I recently mounted on my Rover to use for grocery shopping. The bag on the Rad website seemed a bit pricey, and it isn't insulated (the insulated Rad bags don't fit the basket).  Searching online for "insulated delivery bags" and "soft-side coolers" turned up lots of options in different sizes at different prices.

The "Large Square Platform, attaches nicely to the large insulated bag.

RP is very lacking on spec sheets.  I harp every time I call.
