Service & Repair / Re: RR5 New Motor Not Working
February 10, 2023, 08:58:28 AM
Upon further inspection of the wiring harness, I would definitely have to say it is my issue. Anyway I most likely have a good spare motor if the wiring is repaired. Doesn't look like a simple job so I will just leave it as is for now.

It appears that the wiring harness on the new one is damaged, noticed a nick on one of the small wires. Just put the old one back on with the new tire and it works fine.

Service & Repair / RR5 New Motor Not Working
January 31, 2023, 06:12:27 PM
Just replaced the rear wheel assembly which includes a new motor. The old one I removed was still working but the new one doesn't. When I press the throttle I can feel a little surge and the display shows some wattage but that is it. Any ideas?

General Chat / Re: Rover 5 Taillight Not Visible

If you could buy the Rad rear rack it would definitely solve your problem. It comes with the cable extension and puts the taillight in the optimum location. This rack is well made and just adds to this bike, couldn't imagine loading this thing in my truck without it because you are able to grab the rack.

Yes you will need a better seat but you will find that out on your own. Bikeroo seats are also a good option plus they look better IMO. A suspension seat post is also a plus but it limits on how much you can lower the seat for a short person.

If a LBS sells the Adventure for the same price as the RR6, this should be a no-brainer.

So trying to interpret your concern. Is Rad going to send you a new set of Juggernaut tires and you get to keep the ones you have? I doubt they would want you to return them, if that is the case you will have 2 sets.

JimInPT,
Thanks for posting. Do you know if you can mount a light to the rack of the RR6? I mean being able to connect it like the previous models. If not they really screwed that up. I guess you could mount a little kiddy license plate with your name on it.

Another thing I noticed that I don't particularly like is the taillight mounted to the rear fender. Now that may be fine but if you purchase the Rad rear rack now what. The previous version you could just remove the taillight and mount it on the rack with the provided cable extender.  I bet now you would have to purchase the taillight separate to mount it to the rack which IMO is a much better option.

I just tightened mine down until they were good and snug with the wrench provided with the included toolkit. I have 900 miles on my RR5 and they are still fine.

I don't think they offer those discounts anymore.

So this time last year I ordered 2 Radrovers for 1400 each. Now they are 2000 each which is 1200 more than I spent. This would have ruled me out.

Hey the Kuat Phat 9 fork mounts will work for the Radrovers. You just have to use your own skewers or buy an extra one. I bought them on Etrailer.

Glad I bought mine when I did. Ordered my Radrovers back in July for 1499 plus the 200 dollar 2 bike discount. So 1399 each vs. 1699 is a huge difference, probably wouldn't have bought them.

Hey CG31.  That's an elegant solution for F-150 owners! I spoke to the folks at Rockymount and was told that they do not have a compatible fork mount that is made for a 135mm fatbike front skewer. However, you obviously found one that works. Would you please share what type it is and where to find it? Thanks in advance!

Hey just saw this. These are the Kuat Phat 9 mounts. Bought them on E-Trailer, you need to use your QR skewer to lock them in place. I actually bought and extra skewer so I didn't have to remove it every time. This system works great, bikes are good and secure.
