I have not done it either.  I have build a couple DIY ebikes.  and his upgrade is just a controller swap and new lcd.  plus its a plug n play for wiring so that's nice.  looks like the only issue anyone has is the controller it self is larger and requires some new mounting method.

A higher amp controller will give you better performance.  It wont necessarily make bike faster.

Price seems Ok for a drop in replacement. Or at least a really close to drop in anyway.    You could probably piece together the same kit for less money.

Only real downside is maybe warranty on bike.

You could flip the bars to.  or run a flat bar.

I dont know what he used.  But the car wrap would probably work great.  I may actually get some orange and try it out.  that does look good.

Not a single radrunnner that kinda surprises me.  seems like on Youtubes thats one of the more popular models.

Rhinowalk bags are pretty nice.  Guy I work with uses them.  I could probably try out on wagon to see how they fit.

I am not sure DD is the way to go on the wagon.  Maybe if you get around the 3000 watt and 72 volt area it might be solid.  Gear or mid drive would probably suit it best.  That bike needs torque over speed.

But if he uses the right winds on a DD it might be OK.

Spring is never a good time to buy a bike either way.  Fall is when you buy a bike its a seasonal item.  Everyone wants to dump inventory before new year.

If I was in market I would probably just ride this market hiccup out and wait.

Thanks.

I used https://amzn.to/396DjVd

The front pad was pretty easy I just cut plywood the size of the rear seat(little smaller) drilled 3 holes and used 1/4-20 carriage bolts for mounting.  Make the holes fit tight on bolts so they don't spin.  I used the packing foam that came with the bike cut to size.  and just wrapped it with some Pleather from walmart and staple it to bottom of the plywood.  super easy really.

Right.  And I have a very similar bike.  I would say that Raleigh is a slight step up from a mongoose.  but still its not at the level of rad bike.  and all of them will require repairs and will wear faster than a high end bike.

My point was just that if he rides that walgoose for a year and has zero problems he isn't telling the truth.

The bottom bracket on the Mongoose I built is already junk.  I have about 70 miles on it.  The disk brakes on it are total garbage. the derailleurs are pretty bad.  I had to switch out handlebars and stem to a 1 1/8" adapter because the quill stem it had was so flexy it was scary..

With that said I rode to work yesterday and home 20 miles round trip. The bike made it I didn't die and it was a cheap build.  But I would not in anyway say that the bike felt better while riding the my radwagon.  It is faster but thats about it.

The Stan guy kinda cracks me up.  The wally world Mongoose that he build is way more of a POS base bike that any radpower bike.  I built a DIY ebike using a mongoose Mack and the thing is not nice and no way it will hold up.  I just did it to mess around with and when I run across a decent frame to upgrade to that.

I will be surprised if his DIY walgoose lasts 6 months.

I rode it after set up and was like man this thing is hard to peddle.  LoL.  Have not had a chance to get it back out after adjusments but the wheels spin now so that should be a big help  :o

Thanks.  Yeah lock seems to fit pretty well right there.

Maybe Lowes wont be such a good fit.  ;D time will tell.   at this point I cant think of any local stores that I wont just wheel it in the door of.  None of them really have bike racks.

We were at Walmart and I saw some kid with a trials bike shoved in the cart.  caught my eye pretty quick because it was definitely not a wally bike.  His girlfriend was carrying a skateboard.  I figure if he can just toss a bike in a cart do his shopping and walk out.  I should be fine to.
