Service & Repair / Re: Rad City power issues
October 12, 2021, 06:48:00 AM
Display goes dark when the power cuts out. My throttle does not have the push button feature. Was going to ride th the gym this am and bike would flash on display screen and immediately go blank. Tried re-keying several times, same result.

Service & Repair / Rad City power issues
October 11, 2021, 01:42:44 PM
My Rad City is out of warranty and has developed a weird problem this summer. Occasionally, it just dies. Some times I can bring it back to life by keying off and back on. Today I had a new twist, I started my ride in PA 2 and got no watts. Display remained lit, no assist. Pulled over, Keyed off and on, pedal assist 2 gave me 750 watts of boost. Controller issue?

My GF Has the Rad City 3 Step Thru. Top of Seat to ground is 30" in the lowest position.

Run the battery down to 50-75% charge, store indoors at room temperature.

It wasn't build issue, it looks like it backed itself off the axle. There are witness marks that it was once there.

Service & Repair / Missing rear axle nut

Does anyone know the size of the rear axle nuts on a 2020 Rad City? Looks like I'm missing the one that snugs up against the torque bar.

I believe the ideal storage charge is between 50 and 75% at room temperature.

General Chat / Re: Most comfortable seat?

Rad City owner here. I have the Cloud 9 cruiser seat also. I also installed a suspension seat post. While they offer improvement over the stock set up, my rear end still gets sore.  Maybe something ergonomically incorrect with the riding position? Could be that I'm 65 and that's just the way it is anymore......

My girlfriend has the Rad City ST and I have the Rad City 4. I'm 6ft tall with a 32" inseam and getting my leg over the frame requires that I lean the bike down some. I would go for the step through.

My Girlfriend has the Bikeroo seat on her RadCity ST, I have the Cloud 9 on my RadCity. Both are comfortable seats. I would go with the Cloud 9 as it seams better built. The Bikeroo seat had a spring that became unseated after a couple of months of riding.

Altema - Bike repair stations are pretty basic, Manual air pump, Allen wrenches and a few other tools to get you back up riding. I think it's nice to have along the trails.

Northwest Ohio is pretty good.
1) About 70 miles of "rails to Trails". Combination of asphalt and hardpack.
2) There rest areas along the trails.
3) There are bike repair stations along the way.
4) Plenty of parking at trail heads.
5) Connector trails from main trails to other Metropark Trails.
6) Plenty of dedicated bike paths/lanes in my town.
7) Drivers are courteous.

General Chat / Re: Battery charging question

The owners manual says its safe to recharge after every ride regardless of the amount of charge used. I charge mine every day I I ride.
