Title: How to fix hand grip position / angle?
Post by: gopam on October 10, 2020, 06:14:29 PM
Hi all, I'm an ebike noob and the hand grips are facing upward on my preowned (new to me) RadWagon 4.

How do I adjust the hand grips to be in the correct position?  Would I pop off the bar end plastic cap with a screw driver and loosen it from the bar end?  I'm not sure how to correct the hand grip angle. Any advice? This noob thanks you!!

Thanks!

Yep..it's what I did to remove my grips too.  Pop the end caps off.  I took a little plastic pry tool to wedge it in between the grip and handlebar, sprayed a little alcohol inside and your grips should start moving with ease.

Ok cool, thanks Spyder. I'll be doing hand grip & kickstand spring surgery on my ebike soon. Those seem to be the 2 fixes it needs.

However you get the grips off (I use window cleaner like Windex and/or compressed air) be sure to clean out the inside of the grips really good and wipe the bars down with a alcohol wipe. Putting the grips back on I use a shot of clear spray pain inside the grip(s) right before installing them. The grip will stay in place after the spray paint dries. Another option is lock-on style grips. I might get some of them next as I have very little experience with lock-on style grips but everyone swears by them staying in place. Another thing I've learned, pleather (fake or real leather grips) get slippery as a eel when they get wet! My Pedego came with some of those grips and they were terrifying in the rain!
