General Chat / New bike battery what to do
January 09, 2021, 05:20:00 AM
Just got my new Rad mini, came charged at 75%, since its been so cold in the northeast, and i wont be riding for some weeks, can i just not start up the use and charge 12 hr conditioning and leave battery and bike stored indoors for 6-8 weeks as long as battery indicates 75% power not being used. Then i assume use and charge when I can condition battery properly.

General Chat / Tires on new mini
January 04, 2021, 01:51:30 PM
Hello all, just put my mini together today and my bike has tires iv never seen on the recent vids or pics on rad site or elsewhere. These look more like a road tire not a nobby type tire at all,
The tires are CST BIG BOATS 76-406
(20x3.00), does anybody know if these
Have the Puncher protection as the new Kenda tires if seen on the Rad website
Which are advertised as being puncher resistant.

General Chat / Purchase rad mini
December 24, 2020, 02:25:43 AM
About to pull the trigger on a rad mini, few questions to those who own 2020
What size and type of tires are on newest version., and are they tubless. Is slime recommended in these type tires. I see the tires now come with K shied Puncher protection, is this performing well?
Is charging recommended after each time you ride, regardless of amount of battery used. Seems they go through brake pads quickly, does buying better grade of pad help any.
Iv seen battery performance rated at 800 full cycles, is this a real expectation, saw some say they noticed the performance slowly degrade at 2-3000 milles which would be well below 800 cycles, does age have an impact on this performance, it would seem reasonable at 5 years of certainly less that 800 cycles you could be nearing the end of battery life.
Are spokes failing a regular issue, have seen several posting vids of this, im sure type of riding and user weights have a lot of bearing on the spokes.
Are there known wire harness issues.
Thanks all for any advice and or tips, info.
I've already decided to go ahead with purchase of a mini, just getting ahead of these general issues, always been a mechanical kinda person and like to get up on staying on top of such items, i have seen a general feeling of good strong quality at this price point, if it takes a little bit of maintenance thats expected!!

General Chat / mini verse rad rover
December 20, 2020, 11:21:58 PM
new to this forum, just wanted some advise on making decision of which rad to buy, like the mini's size and folding ability, but wondering if its smaller wheel size makes it harder to handle on moderate off road paths, would the rad rover ride over light park trails better. Does smaller wheels make battery more or less efficient, given the wheel has to spin more to cover the same amount of ground. Any advise would be appreciated
