Mirror for Radrunner.... ???

I am trying to find a good mirror for my Radrunner +.  I tried one I purchased, but it does not extend out far enough to be able to see around my arm.

Has anybody found a good option?

Since the riding position is mostly upright, one's own arm pretty much gets in the way.

I have the Hafny mirrors, the same ones that Rad sells. I've found that the bell prohibits the mirror from going all the way over to the left. Its not super serious but its noticeable. I can see behind me good enough that I recommend them to friends. What are you using?

i'm using the hafny right (hf-mr080r) and left (hf-mr080l) "handlebar mirrors" on my radrunner.

rad sells only the left mirror (hafny hf-mr081l) for $29 each.

i was able to find both left and right mirrors on ebay for under $15 each.

a friend is also using the same mirrors on his radrunner.

we were able to arrange the mount so that the mirror was as far out as possible (see photos).

I rode a motorcycle for many years that had horrible mirrors. You would have to pull your arms in to see behind you. It's now a life long habit, even if the mirrors are correct on what I ride now. I wish Hafny offered a longer arm option, for wide people (like me with my winter jacket) or bells mounted in the brake lever.

I've had mixed results with grip end mirrors, but a commuter friend has both a Hafny mirror and a bar end mirror on the left side of his bicycle. No such thing as being extra safe.

i had originally mounted a mirrycle bar end mirror on my radrunner 1 but removed a short time later after having multiple side clearance issues on my rides.

Ok, some information that might be helpful...

I just installed a mirror in the end of my bar without messing with having to modify the mirror.

I used a 5/8 inch drill to drill out some of the inner tube of the handlebar so the mirror could be inserted.  You do not have to drill out too much and should have no real bad affects.  The inner and outer handlebars are aluminum, thus easy to drill.

Hey! Did you by any chance go for the Hafny bar end mirrors? ( I got these delivered today: https://www.radowners.com/index.php?topic=672.msg3390#msg3390 )

They support 14.8-23mm inner handlebars and RR+ is supposed to be 15mm ( official reply ) but it will only go halfway in. There is an aluminum ring about half an inch inside the handlebar... I'm guessing this is what you drilled out?

I did just what anotherviktor did and have the same question. I never considered that the handlebar inner diameter would go from small to smaller (!) and not accommodate the Hafny bar end mirror. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great. Drilling out the inside seems potentially risky, but I'm open to suggestions.

There seems to be a double tube in there.  I just drilled out a bit of the inner tube and it worked great!  No modification to the mirror components.

Takes a little getting used to, but works great for me. I leave it attached to my previous pair of glasses and keep it by my bike, as I am out every day. It is not difficult to attach and adjust once you get used to it, but it is really convenient when you keep it attached to  a pair of glasses.
