I haven't tried or installed the 35 amp controller yet and therefore I have not checked all of the connectors yet but the two I have checked seem to be OK.  My Rad City 5 + is also a step thru.  I did purchase an extension for one of the cables from electro bike world as they said I needed it, but this is as far as I went on the installation.

The problem I see with the install is the controller will not fit on the back of the seat tube without some modification as it is too thick to mount there.  I could mount it on the front of the seat tube but being a 87 year old man I wanted to keep the area in front of the tube open for the ease of mounting the bike.  I just thought someone might have a better idea on mounting the controller. I believe the cables are OK but I may be wrong.

Thanks for the reply.

RadCity / Re: RAD City LED displays

Have you tried changing the angle of the displays... sometimes this will help.  I have a Rad City 5 Plus and can read my displays.  Maybe some displays are naturally not as bright as others.

If anyone has installed the Electro Bike World 35 Amp controller on a Rad City 5 Plus I would like to know where you placed the controller unit on your bike.  Thanks in advance.

I have one of these but I haven't installed it yet.... The reason there is not enough room to install the controller between the seat post and rear fender on my Rad City 5 Plus.  I haven't decided fully in my mind the place I'm going to locate the controller.  If anyone has installed the 35 amp controller on a Rad City 5 Plus I would like to see a pic of the installation.

I replaced the throttle on my Rad City 5 Plus twice and it didn't heal this problem.  All of them acted the same.  Rad doesn't know how to fix it.  I truly believe the controllers is not programmed properly.

I've had to 2 different Rad City 5 Plus bikes and they have both acted the same.  Anytime I engage the throttle while pedaling the wattage immediately goes to 750 no matter how small of movement on the throttle.  Rad claims that it shouldn't do this but this happens and they never did have a fix for it.  It is my understanding the Rad City 5 Plus and the Rad Rover 6 are very similar.  I hope you find a fix for this....good luck and if you do let me know.  I had a Rad City 4 and it didn't do this.

My Rad City 5 Plus has developed a strange phenomenon when pedaling.  What happens is in every revolution of the pedals it cuts out for a millisecond and the wattage goes to zero and then it catches again and on the next and subsequent pedal revolutions it repeats the problem.  This results in a herky jerky ride.  Is this a dead spot in the cadence sensor?  Has anyone experienced this problem?

Rolandl   Have you installed this on your Rad City 5 Plus yet?  If you have have do you have a pic of the installation of the controller.  It's too thick to fit between the fender and the seat post  Thought maybe you figured out a way to mount it.

Thanks

I haven't installed it yet but I have been exploring some avenues.  The 2 possibilities I have come up with are mounting it on the front of the seat post (interferes somewhat on the step thru, I have a step thru also) or mounting it on the side of the seat post.  The other possibility is move the rear fender rearward by using two 3/4" or 1 inch stand offs (spacers).  In doing this the controller would fit between the seat post and the fender. It is too wide to fit with out doing this alteration.

This would require new fender bolts perhaps 1 1/4" to 1/1/2" long and moving the small junction wiring box to the side of the seat post.  This perhaps would work if after doing this this it not interfere with the removal of the rear wheel.

Still pondering the best solution.

I don't have any pics.  There just isn't enough room between the seat post and the fender to install the controller without making some alterations like moving the fender rearward. The controller is too thick to fit the space.   I was looking for someone who had made this install so I could get some ideas before I began the install on my Rad City 5 +.

Thanks

I received my Electro World 35 Upgrade kit and I was wondering if anyone had installed this on Rad City 5 Plus ST. The question I have is how did you mount the controller? The space between the seat tube and the fender is not wide enough to accommodate the thickness of the controller. It looks like I would have to put a spacer between the fender and the frame to move it backward a 1/2" or so to fit the controller box between the seat tube and the fender.
I would appreciate it if someone had installed this controller would give me an idea how they did it.
Thanks

My Rad City 3 reset twice exactly at 6213 miles, again at 6213 miles on the way to 14,000 miles.  Great bike.

AS I understand this the display is based on kilometers.  10,000 kilometers = 6213.712 miles.  When you get 6213.712 miles on the display the odometer automatically resets to zero.  My original Rad City 3 did this.  I don't believe there is anything wrong with your bike.

Schwalbee Big Ben's or Schwalbee Marathon's are great tires for the Rad City.
