As I continue to research maybe I also need a seatpost shim?

But I'm wondering since the RadWagon 4 has a new unique smaller tire size with only 1 option to purchase which is the Rad Power Bikes, custom 22" x 3"Manufacturer: VEE Tire Co. 22

maybe the seatpost size is unique too?

Is there an option whether it be a suspension seat post or combo suspension seatpost with seat shim that will fit the RadWagon 4?

yikes.....

In the meantime I ordered the Sunlite Cloud-9 Bicycle suspension cruiser seat. I saw on Amazon that some RadWagon owners had a little trouble fitting it. I'm hoping for an easy install. I'll keep the forum posted on my mods. Thanks!!

Hi Ryan, great forum & this is a fabulous accessories/mod list. I'd like to get a suspension seat post. Can you help me determine some proper specs? I'm confused by the seatpost specs needed for the new RadWagon 4.

On the Rad Power site it states the RadWagon 4 Seatpost diameter is 34.9 mm

In your list here it says to get the 27.2

What are the dimensions I need to get? And do you have a link for a suspension seat post for the RadWagon 4?

Cheers!

Yep..it's what I did to remove my grips too.  Pop the end caps off.  I took a little plastic pry tool to wedge it in between the grip and handlebar, sprayed a little alcohol inside and your grips should start moving with ease.

Ok cool, thanks Spyder. I'll be doing hand grip & kickstand spring surgery on my ebike soon. Those seem to be the 2 fixes it needs.

I think I'll try crimping the ends over too to see if that helps. I considered doing this last night, but we just moved and my bench vise is buried somewhere in a mountain of boxes in the garage. I figured that Rad would just offer to send out new springs, but I don't see how this is ever going to fix the problem. I can only assume that any new springs they send will fail in the same way.

Hey Jason I'd love to see what you decide on your final fix mod of the kickstand springs.

I checked out my RadWagon 4 after reading your post and getting it home tonight. I saw that one of my springs is missing and the other is failing and bent like you discovered. So I imagine that ALL of us RadWagon 4 owners will have this "spring fail" engineering issue like you anticipated.

I'm going to go to the hardware store and try and mimic your spring fix on my ebike tomorrow.

Here's a picture of my missing spring and the lone currently failing spring in full bent position.....

Hi all, I'm an ebike noob and the hand grips are facing upward on my preowned (new to me) RadWagon 4.

How do I adjust the hand grips to be in the correct position?  Would I pop off the bar end plastic cap with a screw driver and loosen it from the bar end?  I'm not sure how to correct the hand grip angle. Any advice? This noob thanks you!!

Thanks!

Hey All,

I'm new to the forum and just bought a practically new RadWagon 4 in Los Angeles. The first owner bought the bike for his wife and waited months for it to arrive.... which it did just 10 days ago. But she doesn't know how to ride a bicycle and found she wasn't comfortable on the RadWagon 4. She thought it was too big.

So I just bought it and I'm totally digging it. It was 10 days old and had 41 miles on the odo. I just rode it home today and it has 50 something miles now. I see the manual says to do the first service between 50-100 miles so it looks like it is now due for service.

I'm currently checking out the forum and clicking some of your amazon links Ryan. I'm going to get the Pro Tool Bike pump with gauge you linked and recommend. I think the tires might be low and this pump with gauge looks like exactly what I need. When I tried checking the tires with my motorcycle tire gauge it read 10 psi. And the manual says they need to be 50 psi. I do believe the tires feel low but when I feel them by hand they feel full. So I was surprised by this 10 psi reading. So I'm definitely going to get this pump with gauge - since I need a pump anyhow. I'm hoping all will be clear and psi correct once the pump arrives.  And I'm picking up some Finish line dry chain lube too.

I'm also currently looking into after market seats for comfort. Or aftermarket suspension seat posts. Not only is the SR Suntour SP12 NCX SeatPost currently SOLD OUT....but it is also NOT compatible with the RadWagon 4 so if anyone has suggestions I'm all ears.

I'll post some pictures and make/share a video soon. I normally ride motorcycles and scooters so this is my first Ebike. Besides the small ebike I bought and rode in China when I spent some time there. I think that little ebike had a top speed of 11mph and it was a hoot! I giggled with delight as I rode that ebike in China.

I'm happy to join this forum community and learn more about these bikes. I'd like to learn to do my own maintenance on it too. I might benefit from having a professional do the first service to check out the bike though. Can anybody recommend a good bike shop that works on Rad Power bikes in Los Angeles?

Also, I just ordered the large platform accessory from the Rad Power Bikes website. I plan to attach my pet carrier to ride around with our Chihuahuas, Lulu and Gizmo. Or maybe just Gizmo. We'll see if Lulu likes it or not. She doesn't seem to like my motorcycles as much as Gizmo does. I'll make a video once I get the platform rack in the mail. For now, you can see Gizmo & Lulu riding around on motorcycles with me on my youtube channel:VROOM GOPAM

I just became a new radwagon 4 owner today. I bought mine used (10 days old with 41 miles on the odo). This is great info! Thanks for the write up and the pictures. I'm going to look at my kickstand springs and keep an eye on this.
When I rode the bike home today I heard the kickstand banging & jiggling a bit on the road. When I got home I saw that one of the kickstand hex bolts was loose so I tightened it. I'm reading up on the forum now to see what else I need to check out too.
Thanks for posting about the issue and your detailed fix. Great stuff!
