Good morning everyone. I am looking for some guidance with making some modifications on my RR+. I am trying to make the bike go faster to cut down on some of my commuting. I purchased the BAFANG G062 Fat Bike 48V1000W Rear Hub Screw Freewheel Motor but I should have done more research before making this purchase. It doesn't seem like it's just an easy swap and won't make too much difference unless someone has suggestions on how to easily make this work.

Is it better for me to start with replacing the controller and using the 35A controller I've seen on electrobikeworld.com? Here is the link: https://electrobikeworld.com/products/35a-controller-rad

Here is the link to the motor:  https://eunorau-ebike.com/products/bafang-fat-bike-48v1000w-rear-hub-screw-freewheel-motorcurrency=USD&variant=37410418622615&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping

Will the controller help make my bike go faster or do I also need to add an additional battery? Am I able to hook up a second battery to the 35A controller? Is there a better controller I should get?

What do you think should be my best options? I am currently using the stock battery as well. Thank you for your help.

Shucks Ma'am, I'm no "Hero Member", I just like to wear this cape.

Hello,

Replacing the controller is easy and the first thing you have to do to make a noticeable change. This is bc the software in the Rad controller is meant to be Euro compliant and safe in general; so it throttles even their much, much smaller motor than your new wheel.

You may also consider a bigger or second battery. I was looking at the same wheel to avoid having to open my current wheel and drop in a 1kw motor. Did the wheel not fit the dropouts? Is the derailleur not working with the new cassette?

There is a small hack for the Rad controller you have that might help you gauge any performance upgrade you get from the new motor.

I would really love to hear what your install experience was like as researching this wheel is why I registered here today.

Thx,
Scott
