Needed a basket for my RadRunner and couldn't wait for our friends to restock the basket accessories. So did a bit of research and just took delivery of the basket...

Electra Linear QR Mesh Low Profile Basket - https://www.trekbikes.com/gb/en_GB/equipment/cycling-accessories/bike-bags-baskets-panniers/bike-baskets/electra-linear-qr-mesh-low-profile-basket/p/14476/

I took a punt, but the holes line up with four of the holes in the rear rack frame well enough to securely bolt the basket straight to the rear of the RadRunner. Looks great too. Will share a pic when it stops raining.

Thanks for sharing, looking forward to see the pictures. It's nice to be able to use bolts as opposed to zip ties, though that works in a pinch.

It looks like REI sells these Baskets in the US with a "Quick Detachable" spring loaded mount that may not work so well on Rad racks, but can easily be removed in favor screw mounting. With a little work, it might be possible to modify the QD mount to work with our racks.

Sorry for the delay in sharing some pics on this.

As you can see, slightly irregular positioning of the bolts, and used some larger washers - but looks great overall and does the trick for me!

Ryan

@yellowdirt Looks great and the size of that basket is ideal.

Hi, new here and just got my Rad City
I'm in the same boat, I really want the large Rad basket (heavy though). Has anyone got an opinion on this one:

Looks like a good option. Personally I like our taller milk crates since we load them up to the top often. This looks much nicer though - I bet you can make it work. If you do, make sure to report back!

The rack came this week.

It was pretty easy to attach to the Rad City rack with no modifications. It does not mount to the holes in the rack however, but the included hardware is fine. If necessary, I can push it further back. TBH, I have not ridden with it yet.

On the plus side:
1) you can actually get it!
2) it's a lot lighter than the 4.2 pound Rad large basket (maybe 1.5 - 2 pounds)
3) I think it's going to be big enough for me. I want to be able to hold my photo backpack and it just fits. It tapers towards the bottom.

OTOH:
It's not as cool looking

Thanks for sharing Jeff - I think it looks quite nice.
