PAS Display Lighting
« on: August 04, 2022, 07:56:57 PM »
I have the RCity 5 Plus, and a new Rover 6Plus. Both fabulous bikes. Obviously very different purposes. One thing I noticed immediately is the PAS Display (nearest to the left handle) on the Rover is the same brightness as the center display whereas on the City the PAS display is very dim. Lots of comments and threads on the City display including on the Bike reviews. Rad must have fixed this brightness issue.

My Rad City 5 Plus is the same...the display on the left is significantly dimmer. Did you find a solution or fix? (I've had it about 2 months.)

But this is for brightening the center display. It's the PAS display on the left side of the handle bar that is dim.

I spoke with RAD yesterday. Apparently, at least according to the person I spoke to, they?ve updated the brightness on the RAD Rover 6 Plus. Likely to be added to future RAD city 5 Pluses as they come on line for sale. Only option is to buy their new one for our existing dim gizmo but it costs $109.00. I?ll pass.

Rover, Thank you for relating the information you received from RAD. Guess I'll just continue with the dimmer display!

When I assembled my rr6p in June this year, I peeled off the clear protective coverings on the displays and later found that the controller UI brightness was way to bright, especially at nite.  As things go, I needed a replacement UI and this time, left the protective film in place as to have equal "not so bright"  displays.

$109 to correct the problem on the 5 Plus? Rad should offer it for free or at minimal cost.
