Radrunner 1 max speed
« on: May 24, 2020, 09:24:44 AM »
Has anyone figured out how to increase the max speed on the Radrunner 1, WITHOUT buying the radrunner upgraded display (since it’s both $99 and currently out of stock). Is there a way to do it without the upgrade or is there an aftermarket ebike controller that will work? Got a few long country roads I’m anxious to fly down!

Bolton ebikes is going to be your best bet: https://boltonebikes.com/collections/motor-controllers-and-displays

You get the screen and then you can push even more than 750 watts to the motor if you choose. Let us know if you decide to go this route.

You can increase the speed on the Runner by eliminating the speed control input. To do that you can clip the small white wire that runs between the controller and the motor. I've done this and so far my max speed on a flat surface is 24 mph. I have a picture and will try to figure out how to include it. I'm new here.

Sorry I just saw your post! (I’m also new here :-) Thanks for the tip. I’m a little nervous clipping wires, so a picture would be helpful.

Hey JWilson - good tip for those interested. I find using the Tapatalk app for your phone is the easiest way to upload pictures to the forum.

Thanks

My understanding is that the white wire is part of the group of wires seemingly running as one cable from the motor to the controller. So you kind of have to slice it open to find it. I could be wrong here so proceed with caution. Someone else can confirm.
